The Eruption of Mount Wakatobe Mount Wakatobe is one of the active volcanoes in Indonesia. One day, the mountain suddenly erupted. Thick smoke and hot ash came out from the top of the mountain. The sky became dark, and people felt scared. The eruption caused damage to houses, farms, and roads. Many villagers had to leave their homes and move to safer places. The government and volunteers helped them by providing food, water, and temporary shelters. After a few weeks, the situation became better. The ash made the soil more fertile, and farmers could plant crops again. However, people realized that they must always be careful and prepared because the volcano can erupt again anytime.

Many sea animals are in danger because of human activities. In the ocean, fish, turtles, and dolphins often find plastic waste floating in the water. Some animals eat plastic by mistake, thinking it is food. This can make them sick or even cause death. In addition, oil spills from ships pollute the sea. The oil covers the water surface and makes it difficult for sea animals to breathe. Some coral reefs are also damaged because of pollution and rising water temperature. Scientists warn that if people do not reduce pollution, more sea animals will disappear in the future. They suggest that people should reduce plastic use, recycle waste, and keep the ocean clean to protect marine life.

Last Saturday, the students of Bright Junior High School joined a community service program. Their teacher asked them to help clean the river near the village because the water had become very dirty. Many people usually threw garbage into the river, so the environment looked unhealthy. At first, some students felt tired and complained about the activity.
